Favorite Snack & Restaurants -- Disney World

Hi Companions,

We are starting a new series on favorite snacks & restaurants! Believe it or not, we only have ONE thing that overlaps for Disney World. Can you guess what it is?! Don’t cheat!! Without further adieu, Natalie & I’s favorites….
Snacks

Natalie here and I have to say, my all time favorite snack at Disney is the candied apple! They have everything from simple caramel dipped apples to apples decorated for holidays and festivals! I personally love the chocolate dipped ones with the Mickey Mouse ears made from marshmallows. I have to limit myself on how many I get on a trip because I would eat one a day if I could!

Susan here and my favorite snack of all time is the Dole Whip Float! I will stand in the OUTRAGEOUS line to get it and although, now it isn’t as exclusive to Disney Parks and Hawai’i like it used to be, there is SOMETHING about eating it there that makes me giddy like I won a prize. I honestly could eat these all day every day but the line is what normally deters me. I normally get this treat at least once a visit.

Restaurants

For breakfast, my husband and I (Natalie) really love the character breakfast, ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort! This restaurant is found at the Polynesian resort and it is buffet style with a twist. You can eat as much as you would like but instead of getting up and walking through a buffet, they bring a big platter of all the food to your table and will replenish it as needed. This way, you don’t have to get up with little to refill your plate. At breakfast, you also get to see Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. It is a delicious breakfast with options for everyone and is also fun to see the characters!

For breakfast, I (Susan) agree with Natalie. We also really enjoyed the ‘Ohana breakfast at the Polynesian Resort because you get to see the characters in their Hawai’ian shirts and dresses. It gives you a fun twist on the classic characters you see throughout the park. Delicious traditional breakfast, plus if you are celebrating a birthday (which my husband was at the time and let them know ahead of time, you can get a cupcake bigger than any other cupcake I have ever seen!!)

Another place I (Natalie) really enjoy is The Hollywood Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios. There is a wide variety of food for adults and kids alike and it is some of the best food I have had at a sit down restaurant at Disney. They also offer a package to get Vip tickets to the Fantasmic show later in the night which is well worth the price! This restaurant will take you back to the Golden Age of Hollywood and there are so many fun decorations and pictures to look at! Definitely make a reservation to eat at The Hollywood Brown Derby!

For my lunch/dinner option, I immensely enjoy the Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios and T-Rex at Disney Springs. Hollywood & Vine had a lovely buffet style option which is a little bit higher end that most buffets. We had crab claws, peel & eat shrimp, a roasted carved meat station, chicken and I believe our fish of the day was salmon. Everyone was happy and felt satisfied with the price for what you were getting. The kids especially loved the dessert bar!! The VIP package for Fantasmic could also be added to this meal, which we did and well worth it! The characters we got to see were, Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie & Goofy.

T-Rex at Disney Springs was really for my nephew who is IN LOVE with dinosaurs, and honestly, our whole family really found it incredibly entertaining just watching the dinosaurs roar and move. The restaurant is very similar to Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom (Which is also a good choice!) because they are done by the same people. The food is a tad expensive, but the options and variety were worth it!! My helpful tip is to GO EARLY. Even if you have a reservation because honestly, everyone in that line does. We still waited A LONG TIME before we were seated even being the  Landry’s Select Club members and having reservations but in the end...still worth it.
