Favorite Snacks and Restaurants—Disneyland

Hi Companions!

We’ve been on the topic of food because you have to eat while you are at Disney so you might as well know what’s good! Last week, we talked about the best snacks and restaurants at Disney World. You can check it out here. This week, we are talking about our favorite snacks and restaurants at Disneyland!

Snacks

I (Natalie) cannot talk about Disneyland without talking about their corn dogs. The corn dogs at Disneyland are SO GOOD! I’m not kidding. Head to Corn Dog Castle in California Adventure or Little Red Wagon in Disneyland and you will find a huge, hand dipped corn dog. This can technically pass as lunch because it is so big or you can share it as an afternoon snack. Either way, it is a must have.

Another newer addition to the snacks I (Natalie) just have while I’m there are the cookies from Jack Jacks Cookie Num Num’s in California Adventure. Yes, that name is quite a mouthful and so are the cookies! The chocolate chip cookies are huge! And delicious! They also have a gluten free cookie that I may argue is even better than the chocolate chip cookie! This is definitely one to stop by and you can grab one right after you ride the Incredicoaster!

Okay, while I think Natalie has some major contenders up there especially with that corn dog! My favorite Disneyland snack that I (Susan) have already mentioned in the Disney World article, which you can find here can be rivaled by the pretzel bites from the Cozy Cone Motel in Cozy Cone 4. NOT to be confused with the Mickey shaped pretzels. These pretzel bites are different from their not as good cousins. The cheesy sauce that comes with them is SO MUCH BETTER than the other cheese sauce. Also, they are much easier to eat and share. They have a yummy crunch from the other exterior but a very soft middle. YUM!

Restaurants

There are lots of options to have a nice sit down meal at Disneyland so we wanted to help narrow it down to some of our favorites.

One of my (Natalie’s) favorites is Wine Country Trattoria in California Adventure. Wine Country has amazing food and also offers a dinner and show package deal where you can pay a set price and get VIP tickets to the World of Color show later that night. Their menu is full of delicious pasta and Italian inspired dishes. They also have a gluten free menu (available upon request). I’ve eaten a full three course gluten free meal from here and it was AMAZING! The bread, pasta, and brownie were all gluten free but you would never even notice! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Also, awesome selection Natalie! I don’t know if this is cheating but I have two favorites, but one isn’t exactly a restaurant or a snack but it’s food...so it is going here I guess…(hahahah!)

A cheaper, street foodish type of “restaurant option” that I love are the sourdough bread bowls filled with either gumbo (vegetarian or steak and clam chowder) at the Royal Street Veranda in Disneyland on New Orleans Square. I am NOT sure this is a snack or a restaurant but I will put it here since you can eat them at the establishment al fresco in the very limited seating. My favorite is the steak gumbo, but my husband gets the clam chowder and we both leave very satisfied and our stomach full. (I am pretty sure it is the bread but still...yum!

My (Susan’s) other favorite would be Plaza Inn at Disneyland. Specifically the fried chicken plate or the pot roast with the mashed potatoes, veggies and a biscuit and three large pieces of yummy fried chicken or pot roast. Plaza Inn also boasts pasta options, salad options as well as a salmon option. If you time this right and eat late, you can catch the fireworks show from the outdoor seating that is available. Yay!! :)

There are so many more great options at Disneyland and really you can’t go wrong. We just wanted to leave you with a few of our favorites!
